PA18 UHF/VHF Antenna Pre-Amplifier Kit

For TV antenna installations with weak signals in rural locations, 100 ft. or more of coaxial cable from the antenna to the TV, and/or the use of splitters, the PA18 UHF/VHF Preamplifier will ensure consistent signal performance for reliable picture quality and reception. Easy installation and easy to use. Includes the PA18 low-noise preamplifier, low-loss power inserter, two 36 in. weatherproof, high-performance coaxial cables, and a 12V DC power adapter.

All preamplifiers boost signal, but most also introduce noise - an undesirable signal which, when strong enough, can lead to poor or no reception. Our PA18 Preamplifier offers ample gain while maintaining low-noise figures. The result is a clean, consistent signal. The PA18 can be mast-mounted close to the antenna before the signal has weakened through the coaxial cable running between the antenna and the TV or converter box.

Helpful Tip: To determine if you need a PA18 Preamplifier, first make sure your antenna is pointed in the direction of your local broadcast towers. Connect only one TV or converter box to the antenna. Perform a channel scan using the remote control for your TV/converter box. If you are not able to receive all of your local TV stations, then there is a good chance you need a preamplifier to help boost the weak signals.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PA18 UHF / VHF ANTENNA PRE-AMPLIFIER This amplifier did not work the first time- sent it back to be checked out and tried again - this time it degraded the signal. The over the air channels were weaker by 50% and some were not available at all. Antenna works better with out the preamplifier. I'm about 50 miles from the tv stations. I tried the pre-amplifier on both of my antennasdirect antennas. I had better results with a different manufacturer which did not degrade the tv signal. Antenna works good but pre-amp does not work at my location. Antenna is placed in my first floor condo window, can not put the antennas outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Antenna is 5 times better than my old one An Antenna's Direct engineer advised me a DB4E antenna with the PA18 preamplifier would be good for my remote location in rural Ohio where cable is not available. The antenna arrived promptly and directions were easy to follow. I mounted the antenna high on top of my two-story barn. It worked immediately and we now receive 50 stations clearly instead of 5 to 10. Most of these are 50+ miles from our farm.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does it Work? Not sure! I have had this pre-amplifier now in use for 9 months, however, I'm not sure if it works for me. I live very far (nearly 40 miles) from the broadcasting stations for 4 channels and was hoping this kit would boost my signal sufficiently to view them (my antenna is in the attic). Before installing this kit, I could view these channels occasionally but they were really hit or miss. After installing the kit, I still have an intermittent signal. It seems to be better than without but cannot throughly verify this is the case.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally After cutting the cable tie and installing a digital antenna, I can now receive several of my favorite networks. I live 50 miles from the nearest transmitter, and with four TVs hooked up to the antenna with a standard four way splitter, I was only receiving a few channels. After installing the powered four way splitter, my channel selection improved three fold.

Mt.Wachusett is in the way for Boston stations from where we live so have to rely on CT news and our pbs station can be hit or miss but we get to watch the Patriots so we love it. No more high monthly bills for junk stations we ever wanted. We are so happy and have convinced my parents to get an antennae also!

So glad I got rid of cable. $100 a month richer these days thanks to Antennas Direct. Don't miss Cable at all. Get 32 channels free here in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Couple that with $9.00 for Netflix and you're all set

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 60 Mies Away - No Problem! I live 60+ ,miles from the HD digital OTA broadcast antennas and the pre-amplifier pulls in each signal with perfect reception. Without this pre-amp the signal loss is unwatchable. I've tired other pre-amps and nothing matches the quality of this product.
