How We Got Started
It all began in 2000, when Richard Schneider, a home theater enthusiast in St. Louis, Missouri, grew frustrated with the limitations of over-the-air TV technology.
What started as basement tinkering, building antennas for his own setup, quickly turned into something much bigger. In 2003, he founded Antennas Direct with a simple goal: build better antennas and make free TV more reliable for everyone.
At the time, it was just a small operation with big ideas. But as performance improved and word spread, Antennas Direct helped spark a modern cord-cutting movement that changed how people watch television.
Today, that passion for innovation continues across our entire family of brands, including Mohu, known for its breakthrough ultra-thin Leaf antenna design, and ClearStream, trusted for high-performance reception solutions.
