Antennas Direct ClearStream Micron Indoor Antenna Available in Best Buy Stores

LOUIS -- Nine months after the DTV transition in the United States, Best Buy continues to expand its line of Antennas Direct over-the-air TV antennas with the recent addition of the ClearStream Micron to store shelves. The Micron, a compact antenna that is specifically designed for both performance and aesthetics, is the ninth Antennas Direct product offered by the electronics retailer.

To date, the Micron has proven to be a popular choice among shoppers. The first shipments were quickly sold out, and production is being increased to keep up with demand. The Micron is the first Antennas Direct indoor antenna to achieve an optimal level of performance for the core UHF DTV band in a compact 9" x 11" streamlined design.

"Many people didn't realize how much the popularity of antennas would surge after the DTV conversation," said Richard Schneider, president of Antennas Direct. "We're seeing in our own sales data, however, that close to 50% of the 114 million TV-watching households are using an antenna to either supplement pay TV on the primary television in the home, or to get reception on secondary TV's in the home which are not hooked up to cable or satellite."

In fact, antennas sales continue to be so brisk even post-transition that Antennas Direct is projecting 2010 revenue to double over 2009, from $7.5 million to $15 million.
