Antennas Direct Antenna Outperforms Competition in Comparison Study

March 1, 2006, Eureka, MO -- Data from an HDTVPrimer.com study comparing popular HDTV antennas has identified Antennas Direct's 91XG as the strongest commercially available UHF antenna on the market.

The study took an objective look at antenna performance, since most of the gain figures provided by manufacturers are written to sell antennas rather than provide "real world" performance numbers. The 91XG turned in a net gain of almost 17.5dB in this controlled study.

"We've always known that the 91XG was up there with the best antennas on the market, so we're proud to see it perform so well in a side-by-side comparison with some of the biggest names in the industry," Antennas Direct President Richard Schneider said. "We can now say with proven data that the 91XG is the best."

The 91XG's closest competition was actually another Antennas Direct model, the DB8. The DB8 is one of Antennas Direct's most popular multi-directional antennas. The DB8's net gain score was about 16.8dB.

The study also gave high marks to Antennas Direct's DB2 antenna, calling it "without flaws." While it was originally created for outdoor use, the DB2 is now widely considered the best indoor antenna on the market.

The HDTVPrimer.com study is the latest in a list of favorable reviews for Antennas Direct's antennas. Tech Living Magazine's September/October 2005 issue found the DB4 to provide a clear HD picture that was stable and consistent when used on a rooftop or in an attic. Antennas Direct's newest model, the Lacrosse, earned a Top Choice award from HDTV ETC. Magazine in the January 2006 issue.
