It’s officially Fall which means the temperatures are slowly dropping, the leaves are falling and there’s nothing better than curling up on the couch for a nice binge session of your favorite show or a little Netflix and Chill. Well, thanks to Netflix, that just got a little more expensive<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The company is raising their prices on two of their services: standard and premium. The standard service which allows customers to stream shows and movies in HD on 2 screens at once, will be raising from $9.99 a month to $10.99 a month. The premium service which allows streaming on up to 4 screens, will raise from $11.99 to $13.99 a month. If you’re on the basic plan, no worries, you will remain at $7.99 a month.<\/p>\n

According to Netflix, the price change won’t impact existing members…YET. Users will be notified of the new prices on their next billing cycle and will get 30 days notice before the changes take effect. They will begin notifying us on October 19th, but for new customers, the prices became effective on Thursday, October 5.<\/p>\n

Here’s what Netflix has to say about the increase:<\/p>\n

“From time to time, Netflix plans and pricing are adjusted as we add more exclusive TV shows and movies, introduce new product features and improve the overall Netflix experience to help members find something great to watch even faster.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

So, what does this mean for you? Are you keeping your Netflix? Cancelling? What do you think about the price increase?<\/p>\n

Don’t forget, broadcast TV is always free with an antenna. You won’t see a price increase there, EVER!<\/p>\n
