Believe it or not\u2014he isn\u2019t alone! Our customer service representatives receive hundreds, if not thousands of calls every week, sharing tales of abuse that would make your hair curl.<br \/>\nIf you think cable providers are the only abusive lovers, think again! We recently received an email from a woman who finally cut ties with DirecTV. Below, you will find her tale of heartbreak and rebirth.<br \/>\nLooking back, I don\u2019t know why I waited so long. The writing was on the wall. It was clear I was in a bad relationship. He was taking advantage of me and I just let him do it. I guess it\u2019s true what they say \u2013 when you\u2019re in the relationship it\u2019s harder to see the signs.\u00a0 Now that I\u2019ve pulled away, I just shake my head at the trap I\u2019d fallen into\u2026<br \/>\nWe met years ago. To be honest &#8211; I\u2019ve known him my whole life. I bought my first home a little over two years ago and he moved in right away. Actually, I had only been in my house three days when he secured his flag to my roof and made himself a resident in my living room. I\u2019ve paid his bills and supported him ever since. Why? Because I thought I needed him.\u00a0 I thought I needed his company and I was afraid of what my life would be like without him.<br \/>\nIt was unhealthy. He sucked the life out of me. He provided me with the things I didn\u2019t need and kept the things from me I needed the most. He provided me with a spot on the couch but I wasn\u2019t allowed to leave it. No running, no dinner parties with the Joneses, no fresh air, no Sunday Fundays.<\/p>\n<p>It took me longer than I\u2019d like to admit to finally realize I didn\u2019t need him. Friends and coworkers started telling me that I could do so much better and it finally sank in. I had options. Lots of options. He wasn\u2019t the only fish in the sea. It took me years, but I finally said it \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goodbye DirecTV.<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019m moving on. I don\u2019t need you anymore.<br \/>\nI\u2019ve given up too much for you and I\u2019m not willing to do it any longer.\u00a0 Why should I give you a place to live for over two years and pay you over $2000?\u00a0 And to add insult to injury, you want your STUFF BACK?! Unbelievable. What are you going to do with it anyway?\u00a0 Unload it at the next unsuspecting girl\u2019s house?\u00a0 I wouldn\u2019t be surprised. That\u2019d be just like you. You\u2019ll probably tell her you\u2019ll give her everything she could ever want. That you\u2019ll make her happy and keep her company.<br \/>\nBut we both know the truth, don\u2019t we? You\u2019ll take her money, month after month. A girl\u2019s heart can&#8217;t be fulfilled with options like basic, starter, essential, premium, or premium plus. She needs to feel like you enable her. Like you make her a better person. You, DirecTV, don\u2019t make me feel that way. You bog me down. You make me feel restricted and burdened. Trapped.
