Antennas Direct Seeks Funding for Research and Design

August 3, 2007: ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Antennas Direct president Richard Schneider has announced that his company is seeking seven-figure funding to fuel the company's research and design division.

The manufacturer and distributor of HD antennas has grown substantially since its inception in 2003. Antennas Direct was named the fifth fastest growing company in St. Louis by The St. Louis Business Journal, with a growth rate more than x. Projected growth...

This year, the company announced major breakthroughs in antenna design and performance with the introduction of a new line of compact, computer-designed antennas. The company seeks to continue its innovation, developing "smart antennas," which will include millions of variations to provide the best viewing experience for owners. Schneider says none of his competitors engage in the extensive research and design process he employs.

"The goal of this next generation of antennas is to enable more people to experience HD with antennas that blend performance and aesthetics at affordable prices," Schneider said.

The company has been featured in Newsweek and several national daily papers including the St. Louis Post Dispatch and the Boston Globe as well as on The Today Show and CNBC's On The Money. Schneider was also named one of the St. Louis Business Journal's 40 Under 40 in 2006.

"We've spent the past two years educating the general public about the benefits of using an antenna to get HDTV," Schneider said. "As the information has reached them, we've had a considerable increase in our sales. We only see increased potential, as HDTVs become more affordable and more people seek options outside of cable and satellite."

Schneider says part of the company's growth can be attributed to a growing dissatisfaction among cable subscribers over poor customer service and product performance. His sales and service staff receive calls and emails daily from former cable subscribers who have decided to abandon digital cable for over-the-air reception. Antennas provide the best HD picture quality and are the most affordable way to receive HD programming.

Any sort of timeline for funding and R&D process?
